A Fool’s Love

I am afraid that one day I will find you

And claim you to be mine

Just as I am yours.

You see, I have sought you forever

Affectionately, passionately, ludicrously;

Knowing that I could never lose you

Because I never had you.

Which fool would trade this security

For the risk of losing you that having you would raise?

Ah, I am intelligent as a reed,

I shall never have you, never lose you

And most importantly, never be afraid.

  1. Oh man, how these words resonate! So good, I wish I could’ve written that!
